Our Collection
Of Physical Items
In 2020 we started work on digitising hundreds of our physical collection items. We have used eHive, a web-based collection cataloguing system. That is used across the world by hundreds of museums to catalogue objects, manage acquisition information and publish their collections online.
Since 2020 our volunteer team have been gradually photographing the collection. Entering the details of each item onto eHive to make our collection and archive as accessible as possible. To date we have 250 items on-line and more are being added each month. All item photographs are for record purposes and not high resolution. If you are a researcher, or are interested in a particular detail of an item then a detailed photograph can be arranged.
We are always looking to add to our collection of maritime objects and artefacts, with a connection to Ipswich. Our team of Conservation and Collection Volunteers also need help to look after these objects for future generations. So please do get in contact with us if you are interested in helping.
