WHAT WE DO

We shine a light on the maritime history of Ipswich and the River Orwell, sharing stories through our Window Museum, talks, a twice yearly magazine, events, and partnerships across the town.

We work closely with local businesses and charities to help people discover the remarkable heritage that has shaped Ipswich’s waterfront community.

We champion historic vessels and maritime causes, and we’re proud to have played a key role in Ipswich Wet Dock being recognised as a Heritage Harbour in 2024.

Supporting young people is especially important to us. We want them to feel connected to the maritime heritage around them, and we offer an annual bursary programme to help those pursuing maritime training or careers.
