About the event
We’re delighted to announce that our April speaker will be Sally Hesketh, whose recent experiences sound nothing short of extraordinary.
Sally has just returned from an extended period in South Georgia, where she worked as a Boating Officer for the British Antarctic Survey — operating in one of the most remote and breathtaking maritime environments on the planet. From dramatic mountain backdrops and vast glaciers to thriving wildlife and challenging sea conditions, South Georgia offers adventure on a remarkable scale.
Now back on home waters, Sally has taken up a new role as Assistant Coxswain at Harwich Haven Authority, bringing her Antarctic experience to the busy maritime environment of the east coast.
Her South Georgia journey in particular promises to be fascinating — a story of professional seamanship in extreme conditions, resilience, teamwork, and unforgettable encounters in a truly wild landscape.
Further details about the talk title and specific themes will follow soon, but for…
